Happy Holidays!!

Well, I know it has been awhile since I last posted so I am combining a couple of holidays in one. Time just went by too fast and then the next thing I knew it was Christmas. I don't think I really even accomplished very much in the last month or so and I still can't believe the new year is just a couple of days away. I posted tons of pictures below from Thanksgiving at my house to Thanksgiving/Christmas with the Johnson's at Tamarack to making Christmas candy with Patty to Christmas day with my family and a couple of snow pictures. I could of kept going but I hate to bore you with my somewhat boring life.

We started our Thanksgiving holiday at my house with my family Marty and I cooked dinner and I should say it turned out pretty good. We had a great time and enjoyed each others company. Then Friday we left for Tamarack in our motorhome to spend the weekend with Marty's family for our Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday. I shouldn't have to say much you can only imagine the whole Johnson family in one house. It was crazy at times with the pies not setting up to having colored marshmellows for the sweet potatoes, to several of us fitting ourselves in one room to watch movie to the kids running up and down the stairs to our Christmas gift exchange and of course trying to get everyones family picture, but we all had a great time and we loved seeing everyone. It's not very often that we have everyone in the family together at one time.

My friend Patty and I thought we would attempt to make Christmas candy together this year and watch some football. We started at around 10am and I think we cooked all day and finished around 5 or 6 pm. Both of our backs were killing us, we laughed at our gingerbread men, they were a little crazy. The kids were suppose to frost the cookies and they decided they wanted to sled outside since it had been snowing all day, so Patty and I got stuck frosting all the cookies. I think most of our candy turned out pretty good and both Patty and I will chalk it up as a lessoned learned.

Of course I know that Christmas is Dec 25th so you would think I would of figured out by now that I should have all my shopping done by the 24th but no....I was still shopping on Christmas Eve and it sucked. But I managed with the help of Marty making a couple of stops for me to get everything done in time for Christmas. My mom and dad and grandpa came over to our house for Christmas Eve it was a quiet night with some snacks and good talks. My cousin Jamie came over with her husband Matt and daughter Vivi, they are from New York so it is always nice to see them since it is not very often that we get to see them. Jamie is pregnant and due in March, she looked great and Vivi has got be one of the smartest little girls I have ever met. She will be 2 on Dec 30th and can talk your leg off and says some of the most funniest things you have ever heard.

Christmas morning came and Kado told us on the eve that he was setting his alarm for 2:30am, you would think with age the kids would sleep in but not ours. We told him there was no way we was waking up at 2:30 in the morning and to come to our room anytime before 5am, so right on nose 5am Kado knocked on the door saying "its' time". We all woke up and had our Christmas morning together I think the kids were happy with what they got. But shortly after they were ready to go to my moms house were she does Santa again for everyone. So we headed over to my moms house by 8am and was waiting for David's family to get there, we opened our gifts there and then Dad made his annual breakfast. It was a good time, we cleaned up and then everyone headed home to prepare everything for dinner. Dad out did himself again this year with a great primerib dinner. All in all we made it through the day, I wasn't for sure how it was going to go since it was our first Christmas and the anniversary of Grandma dying. It was a sad day but a good day, we all made it through it and we celebrated just as Grandma would of wanted us to. We all miss her so much, so will never be forgotten.

Snow...need I say more? It just keeps coming and coming, I didn't think it was going to stop yesterday, we shoveled the driveway and sidewalks over and over again. The roads were so slick. Marty was trying to get the motorcycle trailer out so he could load the 4 wheeler to go and clean everyone driveway but the trailer was stuck because of all snow and ice so nobody got their driveways cleaned yesterday. We woke up this morning to rain and with rain comes a huge mess when it snowed as much as it did. I think the slush that was created is worse than 10 times more snow. Now I am wishing for more snow...go figure!

Well I hope everyone had a great holiday season and I wish you the best for the New Year.
